Eddie Earl Young

Eddie Earl Young, 90 was born in Marlin, Texas to Andrew Lee Young and Ethel Hicks Young. On March 15, 1935. He departed this life on December 10, 2025, in Lovington, NM.

Eddie married Mary Lee Benford in 1955, and they moved to Hobbs, NM in 1965. For many years he worked on Diesels as a Mechanic.

From this blessed union five children were born. Edward Earl Young, of Abilene, TX (deceased) Ethel (Keith) Taylor, of Phoenix AZ, Mary (Bernard) Butcher, Lovington, NM, William Young, Hobbs NM, Debra (Freeman) Young, Hobbs, NM. His Hobbies were fishing and hunting with his sons-in-law and grandchildren. He always enjoyed a Dr. Pepper and a Cinnamon Roll. As a young adult Eddie played baseball.

Eddie’s light will continue to shine on through so many who loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary Lee Young of Hobbs NM, Daughter Ethel Taylor of Phoenix AZ, Son, William Young of Hobbs, NM, Daughter, Mary Butcher of Lovington, NM, Daughter, Debra Young of Hobbs, NM, Two sisters- in-law, Ever Jean Young of Lubbock, TX, Erma Young of Marlin, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and associates.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Andrew Young, two brothers, Andrew T. Young Jr. and Chester Young, His sister Mattie B. Young his son Edward Earl Young, a grandson Nkosi Ayan Young, aunts and nephews.
