Matthew Young Obituary
Matthew Scott Young, 67, of White Cloud, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026.
Matthew was born August 13, 1958 the son of Herbert and Phyllis Young. He married Roxie West on May 31, 1986 and together they enjoyed 39 years of marriage. Matthew served his country proudly in the US Army and retired after 20 years of service. Following in time in the military he worked at Parker Hannifin. Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and hockey. The most important thing in his life was always his family. He was a honorable, loyal, loving, big-hearted, hard-working man who will be deeply missed.
Matthew is survived by: his wife Roxie: children, Candice Young, Lucinda (Allen) Nelson, Hazel (Mason) Birdsall, Matthew Young II, and Perry (Hannah) Young;. Grandchildren, Eric Jr., Remmington, Elaina, Blake, Layla, Serenity, Katara, Matthew III, and Vada; great-granddaughter, Sage; brother, Michael Young; sister, Martha (Mike) Kerns; “adopted son” Ryan Hayner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, son, Anthony; granddaughter, Kaylee; brother, Mark Young; son-in-law, Eric Doyle Sr.; and sister-in-law, Cora.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Crandell Funeral Home 1109 Court St, White Cloud, MI 49349. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and one hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be at White Cloud Cemetery.
