Ronald Todd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home on Mar. 15, 2026.
Ronald Dale Todd, 91, of White Cloud, Michigan, went to be with our Lord on, March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Ron was born on the family farm in Barton Township, Section One, Newago County, Michigan, on July 22, 1934, to Maynard (Jake) Todd and Margaret (Maggie Cline) Todd. He grew up in Barton Township (Hawkins) alongside his dearest cousin, who was more like a brother, Gerald Todd. Together they enjoyed many trips to the swimming hole, swinging in the barn, learning the skills of farming that have been passed on to their children, and savoring their grandmother's gingersnap and sugar cookies.

He went to Davenport School, a one room schoolhouse, with many of his family and friends and later graduated from Reed City High School and attended Davenport (College) University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ron worked at Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids, Michigan for 34 years where he became a manager in and later lent his expertise to operations in Arkansas and Puerto Rico. He retired in 1996.

Ron married Betty Greene in 1973, and together they forged a life through hard work, love and determination. They enjoyed over 50 years together and whether in good times or bad, their love of music and dancing kept their feet on the ground and in each other's arms.

After retiring from Wolverine World Wide, he was on the board of the Moose Lodge in Fremont, Michigan, an organization dedicated to helping families, and became the Manager of the North American Sheep and Angora Wool Association, ensuring farmers marketed and sold their products at the best rates.

His love of people was evident in all he did. Ron was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman and farmer. He was quick to lend a hand and shared his abundant talent with family and friends. At any given time, he could be bailing hay, fixing a tractor, installing a walk-in freezer, tending to the cows, sheering sheep, fixing the plumbing, installing hardwood flooring, or listening and imparting wisdom to his family. He especially loved helping his children and grandchildren with farming at his ancestral home where he grew up and seeing its transformation.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Betty, sons Daniel (Nancy) Todd, David Todd, Darcy (Lynette) Todd; daughters Tina (Jeff) Roeloffs, Dawn (Mike) Coon, Liz Stout, Tracy (Pete) Jordan and Linda Eastling, thirty-seven grandchildren and forty-five great and great-great grandchildren and of special mention Mr. Jamie Gawne.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Olive (Eichenberg) Todd, his parents Maynard Jacob and Margaret (Maggie Cline) Todd, his daughter Lori (Tim) Schafer, granddaughter Krista Schafer and grandson Kyle Schafer.

A memorial service will be held at Monhke Janowicz Funeral Home 128 S. Warren Ave. Big Rapids, MI 49307 on Monday, April 20,2026. The family will receive visitors starting at 10 a.m. and services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ayub Francis Nasar officiating.

Interment will be at Barton Township Cemetery and a luncheon afterwards at Green Township Hall at 21431 Northland Dr., Paris, MI 49338.
