Nancy Todd Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 13, 2026.
Nancy Louise Todd, 88, of Columbia, died on March 10, 2026. Born on April 3,1937, in Great Bend, KS, she was the daughter of the late Arthur LaVerne Adams and Helen Irene Adams.

Nancy loved the Lord and was a member of several churches in the Kansas City area, notably Red Bridge Baptist Church. She later relocated to Columbia, SC, and Spring Valley Baptist Church. She loved to sing and was active in choir (along with her husband, Jim) and as a soloist. She actively supported several evangelistic organizations and her local church.

She was a graduate of Fort Hays State with a degree in business. Although a farmer's daughter, she sought the office environment and worked for the federal government, specifically GSA, for many years, retiring as a high-level manager.

Nancy was a lifetime member of the Delta Zeta sorority, Fort Hays chapter, and enjoyed keeping in touch with her sorority sisters.

Survivors include her son James Michael (Janna) Todd, Columbia SC, and son Stephen Paul Todd, Savannah GA. Her grandchildren are James Daniel (Natalie) Todd, Kissimmee FL, and Anna Valerie Todd, Annapolis MD. Her sisters Carol Knudsen and Mary (Gary) Smith reside in Arizona and Vermont, respectively.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, James Thomas Todd in 1995, and her older brother Joe Adams in 1993.

The memorial service for Mrs. Todd will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, March 13, at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 91 Polo Road, Columbia, SC, 29223. Burial will take place in Buhler, KS, on Tuesday, March 17.

The family is grateful to Agape Care Hospice for their exceptional love and care for the last two months.
