URBANA – Edelmira (Gonzalez) "Fina" Rosales, 95 years old of Urbana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and friends. Fina was born May 3, 1929 in Uvaldo, Texas, to Pedro and Elvira (Vasquez) Gonzalez.
Fina was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Enrique Rosales; Henry Rosales, Daniel 'Keko' Rosales, Chelo, Ray, Pete and Mike Gonzales and Licha Hernandez and Alida Freeman, granddaughters: Andra & Bilie Jo Rosales, grandsons, Mark Wells, Kevin Slone, Steven Rosales, and Shane Moore.
Fina is survived by her daughters Anita Slone of Urbana, Lupe Wells of Springfield, Maria Atkins of Portsmouth, Ohio; sons: Steve Rosales, Andrew Rosales, Robert Rosales all of Springfield, Antonio Rosales of Northridge, Ohio. She is also survived by her siblings: Dora Botkins, Gilbert Gonzalez, Jesse Gonzalez and Daniel Gonzalez.
Fina was a mob mom, she was a strong-willed big-hearted woman who absolutely adored and loved her family. She has 37 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, 64 great-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was well known, loved and respected in the community. She loved to cook. Everyone especially loved her tamales. She would give the shirt off her back to everyone and anyone. If she didn't have what you needed, she would find a way to get it. Spending time with her family and her siblings was very important to her. She was a very lucky woman to be loved by so many and for the diligent care given to her by Anita Slone and Johnny Rosales.
Mom was a beautiful soul with a kind loving heart. She is well known and will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. and she will be laid to rest at Oak Dale Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Enrique.
Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.walterfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME to offset funeral expenses.

Anita, I did not know your mother, but there must be a lot of her she passed on to you. You were and continue to be a hard worker and were raised with a great love for family values. My condolences go out to you and your entire family. You are a strong loving person and no doubt the special memories of your mother will lift you up not make you sad.
