Born in Puerto Rico, Edelmiro served his country in the US Army during Korea, being honorably discharged in 1954. After returning home from his military service, he worked as a farmer in Puerto Rico for many years. He moved to New Jersey in 2008 following the passing of his wife. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his daughter, Doralina Perez; his son, Edelmiro, Jr. (Alba); his grandchildren: Damaris, Javier, Amy, Edelmiro III, Ricardo, and Daisy; his sisters, Alicia and Maria Santiago; his brother, Jose Santiago; his great grandchildren: Christian Gomez, Janiksa Mercado, and Kevan Johnson; and his great-great grandchildren: Ava and Josiah Hood, and Ivan Gomez.
Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 10:00am until 11:00am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Bridgeton.
