Blanchard, Edgar Paul "Ed"
Edgar Paul Blanchard, known as "Ed", passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at West Towne in Port Allen, at the age of 88. He was a native and resident of Brusly. Ed was the owner and operator of Brusly Exxon. He also worked with his brother for many years at Kool-Eze Heating and Air Condition.
Visiting will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, September 29th, from 10 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at 12 p.m., conducted by Deacon Sammy Collura. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bradley Chapman, Danny Catoir, Tate Catoir, Danny Catoir II, John Blanchard and Wayne Dupuy.
Ed is survived by his two daughters, Kristi Blanchard Catoir and husband Danny, and Kelli Blanchard Chapman and husband Bradley; three grandchildren, Leighanna Catoir (Brant Rebelle), Tate Catoir (Hailey Shirley), and Danny Catoir II (Kinsey Arnaud); great-grandchildren, Parker Rebelle; and granddog, Peanut Chapman.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lynnell Landry Blanchard; parents, Eli and Edna Gilchrist Blanchard; siblings, Norwood Blanchard and wife Dolores, Inez Crowson; mother-in-law, Lucille "Sis" LeGlue; and son-in-law, Jason Smith.
Ed always had a garden and he shared his harvest with others. He was a daily visitor at Back Brusly Grocery and would ride around town to be sure nothing was out of the ordinary.
