Edgar Kelvin Faison Jr. age, 73 of Bloomfield Hills, died at Henry Ford Hospital August 16, 2025

E. Kelvin Faison, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend,

passed away on August 16, 2025, at the age of 73. Born in Durham,

North Carolina, he lived a life defined by strength, dedication, and

unwavering love.

A gifted athlete, Kelvin distinguished himself as a 400-meter runner

on the Track and Field team at Fayetteville State University, where his

talent carried him to compete in the prestigious Penn Relays. Beyond

the track, he achieved the honor of becoming a 5th-degree black belt

in Taekwondo, a testament to his discipline and perseverance. During

his college years, he also became a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi

Fraternity, where he embraced the values of excellence, integrity, and

leadership. These principles guided him throughout his life.

A devoted father to three children, Kelvin instilled in them the values

of strength, determination, and curiosity. He shared a deep and

enduring bond with his sister, Diana. Following his military career, he

pursued his passion for problem-solving and innovation as an

engineer, applying the same dedication and character that defined

every chapter of his life.

Outside of his professional and family life, Kelvin was an avid traveler,

licensed scuba diver, ballroom dancer and instructor, golfer, and

passionate music lover. His unending curiosity led him to earn a

graduate degree and fill his home with books, a testament to his ever-

hungry intellect.

Kelvin will be remembered for his resilience, generosity, and joy. His

legacy of service, curiosity, and love lives on through his children,

family, and all who were fortunate to know him.

He is survived by his three children, Kelvin E. Faison, Kyrra J. Faison,

and Christopher I. Faison; his beloved sister, Diana Faison; his

cherished partner, Cynthia Smith; seven grandchildren; and numerous

relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close. He was

preceded in death by his parents, E. Kelvin and Nora Faison.

Funeral from Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 5391 Highland Rd., Waterford, Sunday, August 31st at 2:00pm.

Friends may visit Sunday from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm

Burial with Military Honors will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia.
