Edgar Allen Hall

Edgar Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Pocomoke City on Jul. 23, 2022.
On July 22, Edgar A. Hall met the Master face-to-face. Born August 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Willis and Virginia Hall, the devoted husband of the late Ruth Hall for 65 years; loving father of Sharon (Douglas) Dryden, John (Polly) Hall, and Brenda (Dan) Sarna, and his "choicest child," the deceased Faith Hermann. His pride and joy, his grandchildren are; Cameron (Morgan) Dryden, Caitlin Dryden (Kenny Webster), Dr. Marsha (Dr. Glenn) Chase, Jenny, Jason (Heather) Sarna, Jackie (Brian) Daugherty, and six great-grandchildren.
His siblings Mary Lee Bailey Foreman, Dale Hall, Sr., and James Hall predeceased him.
Survivors include his brother, Will Hall, son-in-law, William Hermann, and his dear nieces and nephews.
He was a salesman; of cars at Midway, land at Captain's Cove, and insurance at Peoples Life, but his love was his first job, dairy farming. He kept a large garden for years and shared the bounty of the garden with everyone he knew. He loved to cook and became a good baker after the death of his wife. He was a fisherman, hunter, trapper, horseman, and golfer. He was quite the raconteur who enjoyed sharing his stories and especially his opinions. Daddy was warm, generous, charismatic, and highly entertaining, a true character. Always the center of attention, he was "the baby at every christening, the bride at every wedding, and the corpse at every funeral," as was said of Teddy Roosevelt.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, a charter member of Lynnhaven Baptist Church, and a lay preacher at Pitts Creek Baptist Church for years. He was a self-taught Bible scholar and loved to share the Gospel. He delighted in the Lord and was attentive to His creation. He was a good man, full of faith and the Holy Spirit, loving his Lord and his family wholeheartedly.
He was a lifelong Democrat, honoring his father's name and legacy.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11am at First Baptist Church in Pocomoke City. A visitation will be held one hour prior starting at 10am. Pastor Wayne Ayer will officiate. Interment will follow at First Baptist Cemetery in Pocomoke City.
