Edgar A. Johnston, 85, passed away December 7,2025. He was born September 11, 1940, in Baltimore, MD. He grew up in Rehoboth Beach, DE and retired to Jacksonville, FL in 2010.
Edgar worked for Suburban Propane for 37 years and was a Lifetime Member of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Delaware State Fire Police prior to moving to Florida. He was also an active member and volunteer at East Pointe Church. Edgar enjoyed gardening and fishing, but more than anything he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Edgar is survived by his sons, David (Barbara) and Mark; daughter, Beth Jacquot; grandchildren, Kristen Johnston Jones, Risa Olcott, and Jeremy Warrington; great-grandchildren, Hunter Lukner, Madison Lukner, Blaze Olcott, and Beck Olcott; niece, Melissa Jones; and nephew, Cleburn (Coy) Johnston III. He was predeceased by his spouse (Joan); sons, J.B. and Robert Warrington; grandson, Robert Warrington Jr.; brother, Cleburn Jr. and sister-in-law, Charlotte.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at East Pointe Church, 270 N. Kernan Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care McGraw Center for Caring.
