Edgar Locke "Ted" McLaughlin, Jr., passed away on January 15, 2026, at his home in Maricopa, Arizona, surrounded by family. Born on September 1, 1940, in North Creek, New York, Ted lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, tradition, and simple joys.

Ted was the beloved husband of Lisa (Noxon) McLaughlin. Together they shared 46 years of marriage. He was a proud father to eight children, Michael McLaughlin (Penny) of South Glens Falls, NY; Ingrid McLaughlin (Kevin) of Orange City, FL; Edgar McLaughlin III of Hudson Falls, NY; Kevin McLaughlin (Kate) of Maricopa, AZ; Kelly Jurgens (Bill) of Glens Falls, NY; Hailey McLaughlin of Maricopa, AZ; Andrew McLaughlin of Glens Falls, NY; and Katie McLaughlin of Maricopa, AZ.

Ted's legacy continues through five grandchildren, Ali Pounds, Aisha Pounds, Riley McLaughlin, Lily Mohan, and Asher McLaughlin; and five great-grandsons, Jaelyn, Mahki, Kaleb, Adrian, and Adonis.

Also survived by one brother, Patrick McLaughlin of Pottersville, NY. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Locke McLaughlin, Sr. and June (Waldron) McLaughlin, as well as his sisters, Patricia (McLaughlin) Cleveland-Whitty and Shirley (McLaughlin) Kingsley.

Ted had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He was a fan of classic country music and enjoyed watching old western TV shows. Sports were another passion; he enjoyed watching NASCAR races as well as NBA basketball games, NFL football matchups, and MLB baseball broadcasts. Ted also liked cooking and took great joy in preparing meals to share with those around him. Above all else, he enjoyed time spent with family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Ted's memory.
