Funeral services celebrating the life of Edgar Carl “Killer” Odom, 80, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Interment will follow immediately after at Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Mr. Odom was born on September 4, 1944, in Jasper, Texas and passed away peacefully at his home on March 7, 2025.
Carl was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors and was always looking for his next “Bee Tree”. Carl was a skilled wood worker and became a master at the art of wood carving. His favorite past times were fishing, watching westerns, and reading western novels. Carl was also a member of the West Monroe Seventh Day Adventists Church. His light hearted nature will surely be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Loyd Odom; mother, Maggie Lee Odom; and brothers, Gerald Odom, Obie Del Odom, Rolland Odom, and Bruce Odom.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Joyce V. Odom; sons, Tom Odom, Stephen Odom and his wife, Dennie, and Andrew Odom and his wife, Rose; grandchildren, Kirstyn Odom, Jewel Odom, Jacob Odom, Oliver Garvey, and Violet Garvey; sister, Gwen Babb; as well as a host of loved ones and friends.
Pallbearers will be the Ouachita Parish Fire Department Honor Guard.
