Edgar "Ed" Allan Young

Edgar "Ed" Allan Young, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 2nd, at 10:30 a.m., at All Faiths Funeral Home with Dan Naranjo officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1st, from 4 to 6 p.m., at All Faiths Funeral Home. Ed was born on July 4, 1938, in Milbank, S.D., to Clair and Velma (Werner) Young. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1956. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served from July of 1956 until he was honorably discharged in August of 1960. He was a photographer while in the Navy.

On February 14, 2003, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Mohr in Grand Island.

Ed had a lifelong and dedicated career managing grocery stores. He was employed with Nash Finch for over 37 years.

Ed enjoyed woodworking and ceramics and made many special gifts for his family over the years. He loved riding his motorcycle and taking trips with Carol. They made many memories traveling all over the country.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol Young; children, Brent (Kim) Young, Jody Wallace and Jayna Wells; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother, James Young; sister, Karen Pulscher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jacey Yarns; brother, Richard Young; and son in-law, Mike Wells.
