Edge Clemon Roberson Jr

Edge Clemon Roberson, Jr., 82, passed away on March 22, 2026, in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on December 9, 1943, in Dade City, Florida, to Edge and Raymelle Roberson.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Linden. Edge was strong-willed, loyal to his friends, and had a good sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guiding, cattle ranching, farming, camping, and cookouts. In his younger years, he also enjoyed bull riding and playing sports. He passed his knowledge and skills on to family, friends, and his son's friends as well.

During the Vietnam War, Edge was stationed at Fort Knox, where he trained service members in the operation of Army tanks. By trade, he was a farmer and cattle rancher. He also served as a deputized member of the Sheriff's Office, a private game warden and guide, and the owner of The Western Edge clothing store.

A true Florida cowboy, Edge knew the woods and waters of Florida like no other and often roamed them shoeless, shirtless, and on horseback.

After being paralyzed by a stroke in 2003, his spirit still prevailed. He continued to hunt, fish, cook, make jokes, travel the country, and even ride his horse.

Edge loved bluegrass and worship music and stood during worship despite his physical limitations. Countless loving memories were made with his family and friends, as he was generous with his time and attention.

Edge is survived by his caregiver and former wife, Kay Roberson of Dade City, Florida; his son, Clint Edge Roberson (Krista) of Dade City, Florida; his grandchildren, Anderson, Annabelle, Fawkes, and Waverly; his sisters, Glenda Valentine of Valdosta, Georgia, and Charlotte Judy of Webster, Florida; his brother, Charles "Chuck" Roberson (Kelly) of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edge and Raymelle Roberson; his brothers-in-law, Dwight Valentine and Donald Judy; his niece, Holly Lustfeldt; and his favorite horse, "Sam."

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and LifeWise Academy Ministries in Sumter County.

Services will be held on April 6, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Linden.
