Gladys M. Krager
1933 - 2026
Gladys M. Krager, 92 of Brackney, PA (formerly of Zephyrhills, FLA) passed away peacefully at Wilson Hospital on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
Born April 26, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roy & Etta Glover, Starrucca, PA. She graduated from Harper College (Binghamton City Hospital) in 1954 where she obtained her Registered Nursing Degree and worked in the operating room at Binghamton General. She became a stay-a- home mom after starting a family in 1956. She later returned to work at Broome-Tioga Boces working as an aide for the special education program until her retirement.
Gladys was a devoted mom who you would find being a troop leader for the Cub/Boy Scouts as well as the Brownie/Girl Scouts for her children. She was always willing and available to volunteer at any event for her children as well as the community. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening and volunteering. Gladys was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Gladys is predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth I. Krager of over 61 years who both enjoyed retirement life in Zephyrhills, Florida, and summer vacationing at Page Lake in New Milford, PA with family.
Gladys is predeceased by her sons: Donald L. Krager, Joseph A. Krager, Stephen K. Krager and Ronald L. Krager. Gladys is survived by her daughter: Ruth Ann (Krager) and Richard Preston of Brackney, PA.
The family would like to give a special recognition to the staff at Gracious Livings Estates in Montrose, PA for their care, devotion and love that they provided to Gladys during her short stay there.
Arrangements are entrusted with Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Inc, Susquehanna, PA.
A private family graveyard service will be held in Starrucca Cemetery at later date.
