James Sincell Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Justen Funeral Home & Crematory - McHenry on Feb. 25, 2026.
James "Jim" Sincell, age 75, of McHenry, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on February 21, 2026. Born on August 11, 1950, Jim lived a life defined by devotion-to his family, his faith, and the everyday moments that mattered most.
Jim was the beloved husband of Victoria, his wife of more than 53 years. Their love story began in an unforgettable way when Jim boldly asked someone to give up their seat in a Harper College biology class so he could sit next to Vicki-an early glimpse of the determination, humor, and devotion that would define their marriage. They were married on December 9, 1972, beginning a lifetime partnership rooted in love, faith, and shared commitment.
A proud father, Jim is survived by his daughters, Jenna (Ryan) Mahlberg and Jaime (Bill) Patrick. He was an especially devoted grandfather to Rori, Liam, Brendan, Noah, and Juliana. Jim found great joy in watching his grandchildren grow and thrive, particularly while cheering them on in their activities, including volleyball, football, swimming, and running. He was Liam's biggest champion on the football field. He shared a special bond with Brendan, including their tradition of watching scary movies together. A smile could be brought to his face when Rori would say, "Grandpa, I made you cookies." He and Noah enjoyed watching action movies together, particularly Jaws and Rambo. Nobody could boss him around... unless it was Juliana.
Jim's love for family guided many of his life decisions. At one point in his career, he traded sales territories so he could be closer and visit Jaime at Calvin University-one of many quiet sacrifices that spoke volumes about his priorities. When Jenna would be in the hospital for migraines, he made sure he was always there at dinner time so she didn't have to eat alone. He worked professionally as a Regional Sales Manager, a role that reflected his dedication, work ethic, and ability to build lasting relationships.
Beyond family, Jim enjoyed reading, was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, and had a deep appreciation for music, especially The Gaithers, Eric Clapton, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and the music of the 1950s and 1960s. He enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, especially Christmas ones with Vicki. In later years, he embraced technology as a drone enthusiast, finding joy and curiosity in flying drones and seeing the world from a new perspective.
Jim lived his life grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in God's plan and remaining steadfast in his beliefs. One verse that reflected his faith was Psalm 139:16: "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Jim is also survived by his sister, Pamela (Howard) Bleser; nieces Heather and Kim; his sister-in-law, Valerie (Randy) Seiler, his mother in law, Rose Schilling; and many extended family members and friends who will remember his loyalty, kindness, and unwavering presence.
The family will be holding services at Calvary Church in Schaumburg. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
Jim's legacy lives on through the love he gave, the sacrifices he made, and the example of devotion he set for all who knew him. He loved his family well and took great care of them. He will be missed every day.
