Annetta Marie Penn

Annetta Marie Penn, age 73 of Johnsburg, IL. passed away on February 15th, 2026, peacefully in her beloved home.

Annetta was born in Chicago, IL in 1952 to Leo and Marjorie Soleman. She lived in Wheeling for 38 years and in McHenry for 7 years.

She is survived by her sons, Joshua (Julie) and Chad (Krystyna); her brother, Leo (Joan) Martin, and sister, Lynn Densler; her grandchildren, Dominik, Jaxon, and Michael; her nieces and nephews, Linda, Lisa, Martin, Justin, Ashley, Jorie, Allison, and Val; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Owen, Paige, Chloe, Sydney, Ellie, Connor, Riley, and Oakley.

Annetta began her career as a nurse, caring for others with compassion and dedication. She later transitioned into sales, where she built a remarkable 40-year career with Abbott Interfast, rising to the role of National Sales Manager and earning recognition in Who's Who of Professionals for her achievements.

She was the rock for so many, a steady, dependable presence and a source of strength for everyone she considered family, whether related by blood or simply by love. She was fascinated by history and could often be found researching her family genealogy. Gardening brought her joy, and she loved planting flowers each spring after the long Chicago winters. Some of her favorite memories were made at the Renaissance Festival, where she cherished spending time with her sons and nieces. Strong, protective, and a little bit fierce in the best way, she often said the dragon was her spirit animal, and anyone who knew her would agree it fit her perfectly.

She is now at rest and at peace, reunited with her beloved animals, who were her faithful and loyal companions through the years, and with her cherished mother, father, and sister Margaretta.

Visitation will be held at the Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles Miller Road, McHenry, IL on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4-8pm followed by a service at 8 pm. Burial will be on Thursday, February 26 at 11:30 am at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N Milwaukee Ave, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
