John P. Weith

John P. Weith, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 63. John was born on Monday, January 7, 1963, in Park Ridge. He was a graduate of Lake Zurich High School, and was united in marriage to his wife, Mary Frances "Fran" Rooker, on September 25, 1993.

John spent his career as a union heavy equipment operator and was a proud member of M.O.E. Operating Engineers Local 150. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his trade. In his free time, John could most often be found working endlessly in his yard or tinkering around in his garage. His recreational time followed the seasons-enjoying days on the water with family and friends on the Chain O' Lakes during the warmer months and snowmobiling when winter arrived.

John never missed a chance for Lady Luck to strike, whether it was with a scratch-off lottery ticket or a spin at the slot machines. Above all else, John was a family man with his greatest joy in life being his two children, whom he could never say no to and spoiled beyond measure. He was a deeply loving husband to Fran and was absolutely over the moon in anticipation of the arrival of his first grandchild, due to debut in May 2026. While he will not be here in person, the family knows John will be with that baby until the moment he arrives-and will watch over them from above forever.

Survived by his loving wife, Fran; son, Zachary (Melissa); daughter, Natalie Weith; mother, Susan (Richard) Ullrich; sisters, Beth Meckley, Barb (Hap) Peterson, Karen (Bill) Nielsen; father-in-law, John Rooker; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Bill) Simonson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded by his father, Jerry Weith and mother-in-law, Jane Rooker.

Friends may greet the family on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL.
