Lee Lord Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home on Feb. 2, 2026.
Lee Ann Lord, age 81, longtime resident of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Appleton, WI, on September 1, 1944, to Arlo and Adele (Vandenberg) Callahan. Lee Ann was a graduate of Xavier High School, Class of 1959, and continued her education at Holy Family College, now Silver Lake College.

Lee Ann devoted much of her life to teaching, educating grades 2 through 6 in Wisconsin and later serving as a substitute. Her love for children was immeasurable, and she touched countless young lives with patience, kindness, and care.

She married Clyde Nead Jr, and together they were blessed with two children, Clyde (Wendy) Nead III and Andrea (Gary) Gauger. She later married her "mo anam cara" (soulmate), Lawrence H. Lord, and together they were blessed with a son, Lawrence Arlo Lord. Lee Ann was a loving grandmother to Jordan, Abigail, Jessica, Randy, and Derek. She is also survived by siblings Mary Ellen Schlough, Steve (Marie Nesemann) Callahan, Jeff (Julie) Callahan, and Mike (Jann) Callahan.

She hoped to be remembered as kind, creative, loving, smart, and with a sense of humor. She cherished memories of time spent with her children and grandchildren, including tea parties, bowling, camping, and countless other special moments.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, jewelry making, crocheting, reading, and collecting cherished keepsakes. Although life did not turn out exactly as she once expected, Lee Ann was happy and would not have changed a thing.

Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Patrick and Thomas Callahan; son, Jackie; brother-in-law, Steve Schlough; sister-in-law, Carla Callahan; parents-in-law, Angeline and Henry "Jack" Lord.

In accordance with her wishes, no flowers please; memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or Shriners Children's Hospital at www.shrinerschildrens.org

Her parting words to family and friends, "I love you all."

Family and friends may meet on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass and luncheon at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2118 Main Street, Spring Grove, IL.
