Leonard Leo Weith

March 30th, 1934 – August 23rd, 2025

Leonard Leo Weith, age 91, of Schaumburg, Illinois (formerly of Niles, Illinois), passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. He was born to Charles "Pat" and Martha on March 30th, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. Len graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1952 and attended Wright Junior College until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served 2 years including time spent in Korea post-Korean War. Upon his return, he was united in marriage to Betty Wedig on October 4th, 1958. He was married to Betty for nearly 67 years. He was the proud father of Gail (Bob) Lenning and Wayne Weith, and the loving grandpa to Madison Lenning and Luke Lenning. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and other activities.

Len spent the majority of his career working at Just Manufacturing where he quoted and customized industrial stainless-steel sinks and countertops. After retiring, he continued to work part-time until he was 80.

Len was a faithful man of God. He served in many capacities at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, Illinois including but not limited to usher, communion assistant, trustee, and a member of the fellowship team. He was always willing to hop in and help in any way needed. He also participated in the Friendship Club, St. Andrews Retired Gents, and the church bowling league. In his free time, Len loved riding his bike, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking long car trips to see the country from the driver's seat and was known to swerve while taking in the scenery. In his later years, he enjoyed playing bingo, listening to live music, and crafting/painting. Len was a do-it-himself handyman. Whether it be fixing the family car, reroofing his house, or repairing broken appliances, Len always managed to get the job done. He never met a dessert he didn't like and was never too full to turn one down. Len's smile could light up a room. Even when he was battling with memory loss, he always maintained a positive attitude and was a joy to be around.

Visitation will be held Tuesday September 2nd at 10 AM followed by a service at 11 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church located at 202 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194. Luncheon and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg, IL or The Alzheimer's Association.
