Edil Medina Carror, affectionately known as Tony, age 82 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, January 2, 2026. He was born on February 24,1943, in Vieques, Puerto Rico to the late Benie Carror and Nati Fanelli.

Edil lived in Spanish Harlem and the Bronx in New York City for many years; he later moved to New Jersey. In 2001, he moved to Florida, making Kissimmee his home.

Edil was a graduate of La Salle Academy in Manhattan, NY in 1961. He earned an Associates degree in Business before joining the United States Army in 1973. Edil was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1984 and is a Vietnam War Era Veteran.

He was employed for the New York City Transit Authority for over 20 years as a Bus Maintainer. Edil was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S and American Legion organizations.

Edil could be found spending his days at home enjoying various hobbies including cooking in the kitchen, his three top dishes being pollo guisado, habichuelas and meatballs. He also enjoyed writing, reading a good book and spending time with his family, especially his beloved children and grandchildren. He loved to dance the night away to salsa, his keys always jingling on his hip. Edil was a handy man and a true jack of all trades but was an especially skilled mechanic, who enjoyed working on classic and vintage cars at his car shop he previously owned. Edil also enjoyed gardening, cultivating squash, tomatoes, peppers, and various other vegetables to share with family and friends.

Our beloved Dad, and "Papa" was known for his beautiful smile and endless jokes.

After 21 years of being incarcerated he was released to the care of his loving family. While incarcerated, Edil was a part of a prayer ministry, taught English to fellow inmates, and assisted with tutoring them for their GED diploma state exam. He was well respected by his fellow inmates and others who interacted with him. He was proven to think of others before himself, often buying food, sharing a meal and ensuring the less fortunate always had something to eat, even if it meant he would miss a meal. Although incarcerated for the past 21 years his impact was lasting on those he met, and he was able to transition peacefully at his family's home.

Edil is survived by his sons; Edil Carror Betancourt, and Edil Seda Carror III. and his Daughter; Jeannie Carror-Garris, and his daughter in law Maricarmen Torres. He was blessed with ten grandchildren; Tiara Carror, Kiara Carror, Yonnedil Carror, Khaalid Garris, Steven Carror, Jazmin Carror, Jala Garris, Devin Carror, Madison Carror, Joseph Carror, eleven great grandchildren; Yeniel Carror, Yarieliz Carror, Yonnishka Carror, Yaneliz Carror, Edzier Carror, Kataleya Carror, Edlaiah Carror, Yenieliz Carror, Bianca Carror, Gianluca Carror, Matteo Carror, and one great great grandchild; Aubriel Ferrer.

Edil's presence was a true blessing to all of us, and he will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
