Edis Ernest,48, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away in Joplin, Missouri on February 19, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 28, 1977, in Pingelap, Micronesia, to the proud parents of Ellis Ernest and Delse Alik.

A natural social butterfly, Edis never saw a face that didn't become a friend. Every person has a story worth listening to, and he dedicated his life to hearing as many as he could.

Edis's artistic soul shone brightly through his love of drawing and wood carving. His adoration for art wasn't just a hobby; it was a means of expressing his inner world and sharing his joy with others. His children remember him as a creator of happiness, who would lovingly craft wooden characters for them, bringing stories to life and sparking imagination.

Known for his loving nature, kindness, and friendly demeanor, Edis was a beacon of light in the lives of his family members, including his father, Ellis Ernest, mother, Delse Alik, siblings Merlihse, Desy, Ernest (Ernie), Ehris, and Sigrah Ernest, as well as his sister-in-law, Lillin Ernest. Edis was a devoted father to his daughters Dennise E. Shed and Eilee Dikrohpis, and his son Skahlien Ellis. His legacy continues through his cherished grandson, Kyel Neel Shed, holding a special place in his heart next to the memory of his late beloved wife, Leen Dikrohpis.

Funeral services will be held in honor of Edis Ernest at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
