Yesterday

Childhood Friend
There are few things more precious than a Childhood Friend.
But like life; it too must end.
We grew up together right from the start.
Played all the sports together, never far apart.
Our secrets together that we would always share,
Was always comforting knowing the other was there
Then as time passed, we went our separate ways,
We would talk on the phone about "the good old days"
When life got tough and he lost Betty Sue and a few years later and their daughter too.
His thoughts were life must go on!
Few years ago, I lost Judy,
He call me and said, "We are from Crawford Hill, and we´re tough.
His last words to me were "you must stand tall."
I´m trying, Gary but now you´re gone,
I miss you bud, and I have no one to call .
