Edith Marie Godwin Childers was born on Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William and Ella Mae Hood Godwin.
She was united in marriage to John Childers, who survives.
Edith enjoyed going fishing with her grandchildren, gardening, working in her flower bed, and riding around sight seeing. She attended New Harmony Baptist Church.
Edith Marie Godwin Childers departed this life on October 1, 2024 in Florence, Alabama, at the age of 68 years and 7 months.
She is survived by her husband, John Childers of Savannah, Tennessee; stepson, John C. Childers (Jackie) of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Margaret McFall of Savannah, Tennessee and Evelyn Scott of Lexington, Tennessee; grandchildren, JT Childers (Chloe Scott) and Jaden Childers; great grandchild, John Carter Childers; and nephew, Richard Martin and his family.
