It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Willie Ellen Casey, age 79. A beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, who departed this life on March 15, 2026, in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Born on September 26, 1947, in Savannah, Tennessee, Willie Ellen’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and the many simple joys that enriched her days.
Willie Ellen found great fulfillment in her role as a homemaker, a position she embraced with warmth and grace. Among her many passions, she delighted in cooking for her family, sharing meals that nourished both body and spirit. Music played an important role in her life, bringing comfort and happiness as she played for those around her. Her hands were never idle in her flower garden, where she lovingly tended to blossom that mirrored her own gentle spirit. The river's tranquil presence offered her solace and pleasure, while exploring yard sales and traveling allowed her to create memories that spanned years.
She was a devoted mother to her sons Roger Vaughn, Greg Vaughn, Johnny Vaughn, and Jimmy Vaughn, and nurturing mother to her daughters Mary Collins (Vaughn) and Wanda Reeves (Vaughn). Her legacy lives on through her two brothers and two sisters and many grandchildren: Alex Vaughn, Shaila Woods (Garrett Woods), Justin Vaughn, Randy Collins, Sandy Collins, Wesley Collins, John Vaughn, Kristen Vaughn, Preston Vaughn, Kimberly Swinia, Krystal Rumbaugh, Cassie Stoyer, Alana Vaughn, Tritan Vaughn, Coty Garrett, and Cameron Garrett. The love extended even further to multiple great-grandchildren, and she was fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Willie Ellen's life was not without its moments of sorrow. She was predeceased by her late husband, John Wilford Vaughn and son, Jason Vaughn; her brother, James Harville; her twin brothers, Wilbur and Milbur Harville; and her sister, Shirley Harville. Their memory remains an indelible part of the fabric of her life.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11am. At Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Visitation with the family, will also be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, From 10am until 11am Service time.
