Edith Curci Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chubenko Funeral Home - Port Reading on May 21, 2025.
Edith Marie Curci, 90, of Carteret, N.J. passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025.
Edith is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Paul, her beloved son Michael and wife Sally, cherished grandchildren Nicole Greene and husband James, Michael Curci Jr. and fiancé Frankie Racioppi, Brian Curci and Courtney Curci as well as great-grandchildren Jacob Greene and Nathan Greene.
Edith was pre-deceased by her mother Louise Noonan, father Daniel Noonan and brothers Stephen and Joseph Noonan.
She was the loving and dedicated matriarch of her family who enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and never saying no to a "sleepover". Her strong will, compassion and joy for life have been passed down to the next generation.
For many years, Edith worked as a seamstress for a local dress company, as a telephone operator and secretary for Emerson Quiet Kool in Avenel, and for Island Transportation in Port Reading.
As a teenager, Edie was part of a girls singing quartet who made the finals on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour, a memory she was very fond of. She enjoyed summer vacations in Point Pleasant Beach and crabbing with her husband and son, many sunny days at Monmouth Park racetrack, crocheting, John Wayne movies, and taking her son and grandchildren to Keansburg amusement park. She also loved watching her son Michael coach little league baseball, cheering the team on with the "magic stick". Gigi, as she was known to her precious great-grandchildren, enjoyed watching them play ball, sing and play guitar.
Nothing was more important to Edith than her family. She exemplified the meaning of true, unconditional love and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched over the years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:30am at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Port Reading. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shining Stars Network, 24 Georgia St., Cranford, N.J. 07016.
