Edith Dean Obituary

She was the Valedictorian of Astoria High School class of 1966. She worked for the Mason District Hospital in Havana, Illinois. She later worked for Astoria Fiber Steel, Webster Industries in Macomb, ZETA in Macomb, and the Hawkeye Glove Factory in Beardstown.
Edith is survived by her three children; Brian (Laura) Dean, Darin Dean and Misty (Mark) Workman, all of Astoria, three grandchildren; Staisha (Jon) Oest, Casey Dean and Mallory (Kyle) DeFord, and four great-grandchildren; Gideon Oest, Tamsyn Oest, Elliott DeFord and Kellan DeFord. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann (George) Carmean of Astoria, and two brothers, Dennis (Lana) Hopping of Warrensburg, MO and Max Hopping of Astoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Hopping.
Edith loved the simple life, nothing fancy, just staying home and being the best friend of her grandchildren. She was a sweet freak, loving her chocolates and ice cream. She also enjoyed her flowers that she planted and cared for around her house.
There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.

I´m sorry for your loss. I worked with Edie at Fiber Steel in Astoria many years ago. She was one of the nicest people I knew.
