Edith Rose Rackley Johnson, 86, of Shawnee, passed away February 28, 2026, after suffering several strokes.
Edith was born on October 27, 1939 to Leo and Lelvia Rackley in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Shawnee Public Schools.
After graduation she worked many different jobs including helping her husband build their family business, Bill Johnson General Contracting. She was the bookkeeper and secretary. In the 90's she started Daydreamer Designs with her beloved sister Anna Rose. Their creations were one of a kind and became known in the Oklahoma rodeo world.
In 1955 she met the love of her life Bill Johnson, they fell deeply for each other and were married the same year. They later had two daughters Jeannie and Debbie.
When the girls were grown and retirement came Edith was an avid gardener, her flowerbeds were masterpieces. She also enjoyed bird watching, fishing at the family pond, and puzzles but her absolute favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren. Her and Bill spoiled them rotten and always looked forward to sleepovers. She loved teaching them everything from flowers to sewing. The memories of spending time in Nanny's kitchen will be cherished by all.
