Edith Jones Obituary

Edith May "Bootsie" Jones

February 20, 1944 - January 21, 2026

Our Mom, Edith (Bootsie) Jones, aged 81, passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2026. She passed away in her home, without pain, surrounded by family. She lived a life filled with adventure and created a world of love and support for everyone around her.

Mom was born on February 20th, 1944 into a large family. As the oldest of 11 children, she learned lessons of responsibility, empathy, and love early in her life. Mom met the love of her life, Nick Jones, in Upstate New York when she was 13. Together they built a life that spanned more than six decades and circled the globe countless times. Their marriage was built on true love, understanding, and a shared belief that a great meal and a belly laugh are the best medicine for any of life's challenges.

Mom embraced a life of adventure with strength and grace. She raised three sons (and one husband) while traveling around the world. She built a home in challenging and unfamiliar places. Family pets included a deer, a donkey, a monkey, and all the snakes and lizards her boys could carry home. From Alaska to Africa, from Japan to India, and beyond, she created a loving home wherever we landed.

Mom always put her family first. She sacrificed quietly and constantly. She was the heart of the family. The organizer, the teacher, the nurturer and the steady hand. As three crazy boys, we tested her patience constantly. Our frequent misbehaving was met with kindness, forgiveness, and empathy. Her grandchildren know her as a source of unconditional love, acceptance and endless amounts of candy.

Rest in peace, Mom. Back in Dad's arms, stepping into new adventures together. You will be missed beyond words, loved without end, and remembered always. Mom is survived by her three sons, Nick, Don and Jeff. Her grandchildren, Andrew, Alexandra, Hunter, Bethany, Tyler, Gabriel and Shepherd, will all miss her very much.
