Edith Joyner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations on Jan. 16, 2026.
Edith Carolyn Joyner, lovingly known as Carolyn Joyner, 78, of Franklin County, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. Born on December 22, 1947, she was the beloved daughter of the late Kerney Harrison and Edith Matthews Harrison.

Carolyn lived a life filled with simple joys. She cherished every moment spent with her family, finding happiness in their laughter and company. She delighted in watching hummingbirds flutter outside her window, never missed her favorite shows, and showed her love by cooking home-cooked meals for many years with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also treasured long conversations with her sister. A hardworking and determined woman, Carolyn owned and operated her own produce stand alongside her husband, Roger Joyner, where she greeted her community with warmth and kindness. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, a good bowl of ice cream, and the everyday comforts that made life sweet.

She is survived by her son, Terry Joyner; her daughters, Tammy Joyner Glover (Steve) and Teresa Joyner Leggett (Guy); her brother, Randy Harrison; and her sister, Jean Pridgen (Al). Carolyn leaves behind five grandchildren-Stephanie, Hallie (Caleb), Guy, Tori, and Easton-and eight great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Joyner, and her brother, Kerney E. Harrison.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 20, 2026, at Cornerstone Funeral Home, with Johnny Hudson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.

I have known Carolyn for many years. She was married to my wife's brother Roger Joyner. Always enjoyed visiting her house especially at Thanksgiving. She was a very good cook. Also she and Roger ran a vegetable stand for many years. Their produce was always fresh because it was bought from local farmers. My prayers are for the family Tammy,Teresa,Terry and all the grand-children and great-grandchildren. Rest-In-Peace Carolyn!
