Edith Kuehler

Edith Kuehler 91 of Bloomfield died January 20, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bloomfield to Emil and Elfriede Fischer, she was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was actively involved in the lives of all her children.

Her life's passion was to love and glorify God, and to point people to Him. She attended Emergence Church (Totowa NJ), and actively participated in several women's Bible studies. By the grace of God, she served as a mentor and prayer confidant for many women, pointing them to Jesus. She extended God's love to everyone she met.

Edith had boundless energy, and also enjoyed gardening, the shore, and classical music. She was a gifted pianist. She was initially employed as a lab technician, and later for more than 20 years as a medical receptionist for Dr. John C. Leaman, retiring in 2000.

Edith had a deep mutual love for her late husband of 44 years, Harold Kuehler, and for her family. She is survived by two sons, Dr. David Kuehler of Albany, NY, and Harold Kuehler and wife Rebecca of Randolph, MA, by two daughters, Ruth Just and husband Gary of Sarasota, FL, and Ingrid Nawyn of Bloomfield; and by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Evelyn Ruskowsky of Bloomfield and Elizabeth Sill of VA. All will miss her love, prayers and personal encouragement.

Funeral services will begin 10 AM Saturday January 31, 2026 at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012, followed by burial at Cresthaven Memorial Park. Viewing hours are 4-8 PM Friday January 30, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Samaritan's Purse (Boone, NC) or World Challenge (Pueblo, CO).
