Edith Kuhens Obituary
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 18, 2 - 4 p.m. at the Coliseum in Oelwein.
Edith is survived by her four children: Diane (Bill) Brownell of Oelwein, John (Susie) Kuhens of Mt. Pleasant, Suzanne (Vince) Carbone of Savannah, Georgia, Joel (Cathi) Kuhens of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and three great-greats on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and great-grandson Cooper Ingels.
Edith was born May 6, 1927, to Robert E. and Mayme (Loser) Steele. Edith graduated from Lamont High School and Pitzies School of Beauty, Waterloo, and then worked in a salon in Lamont.
She married Robert Kuhens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Edith and Robert farmed many years in the Maynard and Strawberry Point areas.
After Robert's death, Edith moved to Mount Pleasant where she lived until moving to Grandview in Oelwein.
Edith was a dedicated wife and mom. She enjoyed farm life, and dances at the Coliseum with Robert where they first met. When the "Grands" started to arrive, this made her life complete.
The family thanks and appreciates the wonderful care and support given to Mom at Grandview Health Care the past six years.
