Funeral service for Edith Wallace Long, 94, will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Salter and Bro. Joe David Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be at Peck Funeral Home on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Long passed away on October 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 30, 1931, in Morgan County to Virgil and Effie Wallace.

Edith retired from the Hartselle City School system and was a member of and attended Johnson Chapel Methodist Church where she was part of the choir. She enjoyed singing, and cooking for and getting together with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Buey L. Long, her parents, two daughters- Debbie Long and Marla Marshall, one son-in-law- Steve Kelsoe, three brothers- Leon Wallace, Buddy Wallace and Donald Wallace, one sister- Polly James (Charles Lee), and two brothers-in-law- Edwin Pike and Glyn Russell.

Survivors include:

Son- Dale Long (Cynthia)

Daughter- Lisa Kelsoe

Son-in-law- Bill Marshall

Four sisters- Elsie Pike, Mary McCay (Johnny), Jonnie Russell and Charlcie Montgomery (Paul)

Six grandchildren- Brandi Bomar, Ashley Smith, Casey Long, Lindsey Eady, Faith Marshall and Audrey Marshall

7 great grandchildren

1 great great grandchild

Pallbearers will be Joel Wallace, Ken James, Keith McCay, Eddie Pike, Mark Pike and Jason Russell.

The family would like to give a special thanks to New Beacon Southern Hospice Care, especially Autumn and Raley for the amazing care they gave to Mrs. Long.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to New Beacon Souther Hospice Care.
