Edith Picard Obituary

Manville – Edith D. (Tranquilli) Picard, 78, of Railroad Street died Thursday, August 4 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of Donald C. Picard. Mr. and Mrs. Picard were married 55 years.

A lifelong resident of Manville, she was a daughter of the late Domenic and Rosa (DeAngelis) Tranquilli.

Mrs. Picard was a communicant of St. James Church, Manville. She was a member of the Golden Agers of Manville and Albion and a former member of the Gloria Caruso Society.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Catherine A. Picard; a son, Domenic C. Picard; a sister, Bertha M. Cournoyer, all of Manville; and 2 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Etolo Tranquilli. The funeral will be held Monday, August 8 at 9 A.M. from the Roy Funeral Home, 1 Bouvier Avenue, Manville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Picard’s memory to the VNS of Greater RI, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 515, Lincoln, RI 02865 would be appreciated. For Directions and Guest Book, please visit www.legacy.com.
