Edith Williford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel of Capitol Hill on Aug. 7, 2024.
On Friday, August 2, 2024. Edith Williford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life at the age of 92. Born Edith Rowena LaFevers in Tupelo, Oklahoma, on November 1, 1931, she was the daughter of Arnold Davis LaFevers and Vicy Lillen (Ketcherside) LaFevers. Both parents have preceded her in death, along with her brother, Ralph, and sisters Flora, and Anita.
Edith leaves her children to cherish her memory, Patrick Vowell and wife Christy, and David Vowell; her brother, Randall LaFevers and wife Barbara; grandchildren Brittany Dennis, Lindzy Rodgers, Jeremy Rodgers, Kennedy Vowell, and Jaymison Vowell; along with her great-grandchildren Edie Rose Dennis, Tulley Dennis, and Declan Rodgers, and many other loving family members and friends.
Called the "sweetest woman ever" by those closest to her, Edith had the unique ability to make each person in her life feel special – she never once missed an opportunity to say "I love you" to anyone. She enjoyed working in retail for Lane Bryant for many years. After her retirement from the workforce, Edith shifted her focus to her many hobbies and passions. She loved camping, fishing, playing card games, working crossword puzzles, and playing Bingo. She also loved game shows. Edith rarely missed an episode of The Price is Right and was a longtime Family Feud fan.
Though so many things in life made her happy, nothing brought Edith more joy than quality time spent with the people she loved the most – her beloved family. As we reflect upon the rich, storied life of Edith Rowena Williford, let us honor her many accomplishments and hold her memory dear, always. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her memory will live forever in our hearts.
