Wanda McCutchen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel of Capitol Hill on Feb. 5, 2026.
Wanda Loree McCutchen, 83, of Madill, OK, passed away on January 20, 2026.

Wanda was born June 8, 1942, to Thomas Jesse and Georgia Breeding on their family farm

in Madill, Oklahoma, where she spent most of her childhood. After graduating from

Madill High School, she went on to study cosmetology in Oklahoma City and became an

established hairdresser in a career she loved - helping people look beautiful and making

endearing friendships.

In 1961, she fell in love and was married to Donald Gene McCutchen, a forever-partner

who preceded her in death March 2023. Wanda was also preceded in death by parents

Jesse and Georgia, and brother Samuel Breeding.

She is survived by her eldest son Todd (Kerry) McCutchen, his son Gray (Liz), their children

Liam and Adaline. Younger son Brent (Shannon) McCutchen, and their two son's Cole

(Maddy) and Garrett.

Wanda also leaves behind a brokenhearted group of relatives, including Al Breeding and

Rene Horton and family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

The Madill area always held a special connection with Wanda. After retirement, Wanda

and Don moved from Oklahoma City back to the Madill area, settling on Lake Texoma,

and her friends followed. Wanda was a rey-surprise in a small package. She was a slalom

water skier but couldn't swim a stroke. She was an amazing cook, but never used a

recipe. She was a painter, a dreamer of things to do, and director of things to get done.

Her greatest joy was when her hands were dirty - planting, gardening, and growing

everything she touched. She loved sharing and teaching what she learned,

accomplishing a certificate of "Master Gardener".

Wanda loved to entertain and host, her home was a gathering place of people, birds,

dogs and "critters". With a servant's heart, she was always there for friends and family.

Above all, was the love of her husband and family. Wanda was beautiful, and lived her life

to the fullest.

Wanda was a devoted Christian. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026,

among the beauty of life and joy of her rebirth.
