Age 89, of Penn Hills, on Thursday, October 2. Beloved husband of the late Sandra (Kubancek) Vilsack. He is survived by his loving children E. J. (Lisa), Karen Laufer (Rich) and Paul as well as his adoring grandchildren, Jenna, Jodie, Joseph (Kati), Gina, Michael and Maria. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Wittman as well as nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Frank Vilsack and his sister Diane Conner.

Ed grew up in Garfield and was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. At a young age, he began working for his grandfather's business, Model Coat & Apron Supply Company and was a member of the Teamsters Local 249. Over the years, he eventually became involved in the sales part of the business and eventually retired from Rental Uniform Services. Upon retirement, he started a promotional sales company and enjoyed running that for several years.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in their various activities. He really adored his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was well-liked, made friends easily and enjoyed seeing his friends at Planet Fitness or having a coffee with his buddies at McDonalds. He and his friends enjoyed a good laugh and were master pranksters.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 at the CHARLES W. TRENZ Funeral Home, Inc., 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am in Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Rd. in Penn Hills. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution can be made to 412 Food Rescue, 6140 Station Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 https://412foodrescue.org/donate/.
