Edna Mae Ratcliff Cunningham, 99, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
A native of Virginia, she was the wife of the late Louie Cunningham and daughter of Carl and Georgia Ratcliff, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Marsh (Leon); stepmother, Novella Ratcliff; sister, Virginia; brothers, Brian and Eugene and spouses; and in-laws, Earl and Julie Cunningham.
Edna Mae retired from General Electric with over 40 years of service.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bill Cunningham (Linda); grandson, Hunter Cunningham (Donna); great-granddaughter, Caitlin Altizer (Jacob); three precious great-great-granddaughters; two special nieces, Jennie Avison (Billy) and Cindy Stanley (Chuck); numerous grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and special cousins; special neighbors, Donna and Mike; many friends, especially Geraldine Tate and Bill Musgrove, who was like a second son to her.
A private graveside will be held in Sherwood Memorial Park.

Edna Mae was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She worked with my husband at GE. We all had a lot of laughs together. Earth has lost an angel but heaven has gained one.

My husband, Maurice Rowe , along with several brothers lived across the street from Edna Mae on Hollins Road. I remember going over to their big old house upon the hill. Edna Mae was such a sweet lady. Sending prayers for comfort and peace.

Bill very sorry for your loss I wish there were words that could ease the pain but I can´t find them. I´ll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. We shared a lot of great times together off old Hollins rd and at Tinker. God bless
