Edna Myrle Estlund

Edna Myrle Estlund, 90, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Life Care of Lewiston. She was born May 10, 1935, at Grouse Flats, Asotin County to Eva Lois Mallory of Turin, Iowa and Edward Erwin Jones of Garfield, Whitman County, Wash.

Edna attended Clarkston High School and later earned her GED.

She met the love of her life, James Eugene Estlund, at Luther League and the couple was married Sept. 13, 1952, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Clarkston. They celebrated 63 wedding anniversaries together. They were both very active church members throughout their lives. Together they had three children: Gary, Sharon and David.

Edna was a cook at Clarkston High School and Grantham Elementary School from 1966-91. Much-loved family favorites were her parker house rolls and dill pickles. Edna loved baking cookies for her grandchildren, growing vegetables in her well-tended garden, watching birds eating from her multiple bird feeders and challenging anyone to put puzzles together with her. She was also a longtime volunteer at Tri-State Hospital and delivered for Meals on Wheels with her friend Delores Juve. Edna also loved fishing and the last time she went with Gary, she caught her limit at Headgate Pond.

Edna and Jim were avid sports fans as Washington State University Cougar boosters and also supported Lewis-Clark State College athletics. They also loved cruises, vacations, outings and weekly card games with family and friends. She also enjoyed her quilting group at church.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents Eva and Edward, and her (step and half) siblings Lawrence Harding, Phyllis Chandler, Donald Harding, Marion Jones, Nelda Johnston, Irene Bower and Avis Clark.

Edna is survived by her children Gary (Michele) Estlund, of Clarkston, Sharon (Glenn) Gaboury, of Kennewick, and David (Debbie) Estlund, of Clarkston.

Grandchildren include Chad Estlund (Monica SanClemente), Shelby (Stefan) Kraft, Allison (Morgan) Beale, Heather Estlund (Amber) and Coby (Robert) Trimble. Great-grandchildren are Vivian, Grady and Maisie Kraft and Robbie and Caleesi Trimble. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Life Care of Lewiston for the wonderful care she received while in residence.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Vineland Cemetery, in Clarkston, followed by a service at 3 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1115 13th St., Clarkston.
