Edna Hudson Obituary
Edna Diane Merritt Hudson, 69, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in UNC Rex Hospital. Mrs. Hudson was born on February 19, 1956 in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Rachel Jones Merritt and William Sam Merritt. She was also preceded in death by her bother Donald Merritt.
Surviving include her husband Horace Mack Hudson, Jr., her son Roger Jenkins, Jr., her brothers David Merreitt and his wife Jean of Wake Forest and James Russell Merrit and is wife Debbie of Pinetops, her sister-in-law Vicki Merritt, and her grandchildren: Jordan Clay, Dylan Clay, and Ayden Jenkins.
A Funeral Service will be held at Chockoyotte Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 with Pastor Henry Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC. Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com. Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Hudson family.
