Edna Klitzke

Edna A. Klitzke was born on June 20, 1926, at home in Lynn Township. She was the daughter of George and Emma (Schmidt) Plath. Edna was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Zion Lutheran Church in West Lynn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She attended country school in West Lynn Township, District #20. On January 21, 1945, Edna was united in marriage to Louis Klitzke at Zion Lutheran Church in Lynn Township, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Janice, Loren and Dexter. Edna and Louis resided and farmed in West Lynn Township. They shared 48 years of marriage until Louis passed away in February 19, 1993. Edna was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and partner in the farming operation. She also held employment for 17 seasons at Green Giant corn pack in Glencoe, Minnesota. Edna was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Edna enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, cooking, bird watching, playing with her dog Max, reading cookbooks and trying new recipes, playing bingo and cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. When Edna needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota on January 11, 2013. She passed away there on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the age of 86 years. Blessed be her memory. Edna is survived by her: Children, Janice Dasher and her husband, Duane of Hutchinson, MN, Dexter Klitzke and his wife, Penny of Darwin, MN; Grandchildren, Kelly Buresh of Hutchinson, MN, Kimberly Block and her husband, Brian of Hutchinson, MN, Aaron Johnson and his wife, Donna of Hutchinson, MN, Michelle Klippen and her husband, Shaun of Shakopee, MN; Great Grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole Buresh, Allyssa and Mitchell Sims, Michael Block, Mercedes, Matt and Brandon Johnson, Hailey Christensen, Trevor Klippen; Brothers, Albin Plath and his wife, Dorothy of Hutchinson, MN, David Plath and his wife, Delores of Hutchinson, MN; Sister, Erna Schroeder of Silver Lake, MN; Many other relatives and friends. Edna is preceded in death by her Parents, George and Emma Plath; Husband, Louis Klitzke; Son, Loren L. Klitzke; Brothers, Edwin, Ben, Harlow, Rueben, Hugo, Delbert, George Jr., Donald, and Arnold Plath, Sisters, Rosella Kohls, Sophie Schroeder.
