FALL RIVER Edna Frances (Vincent) Lacob, 89, of Fall River passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of the late Irving Lacob.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late John C. Vincent and Sophia (Brooder) Vincent. After graduating from Diman High School, Edna worked in several Fall River mills, including a cloth mill, Frito Lay and a luggage mill. She moved to Florida with her husband to run a plant nursery at Southfork Ranch in Stuart. Returning to Fall River, Edna was employed as a CNA at Catholic Memorial Home, for over 15 years, until retiring to care for her husband.
Edna was a strong, independent woman, who was Godmother to all her nieces and her nephew as well as caregiver to many.
Survivors include her brother John R. Vincent; step children Susan Rooney and Jonathan Lacob; nieces Sharon MacFarlane, Joanne Isabel, and Jana McHenry; great nephew Michael MacFarlane, and great nieces Jillian Howarth and Caitlin McHenry. She was the sister of the late Mildred Violette; step grandmother of the late Jennifer Rooney; and aunt of the late Paul Violette.
Private services were held under the direction of the Oliveira Funeral Homes.
