Gerald S. Souza, age 63, of Attleboro, passed away on March 27, 2026, at HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born in Fall River, Gerald was the son of the late Edward J. Souza and the late Dorothy (Cateon) Souza.
Gerald was a hardworking, self-employed handyman by trade. He enjoyed his early morning coffee at the neighborhood donut shop with local businessmen and friends discussing their upcoming daily projects. Beyond his work, he was a compassionate soul with a deep passion for animals, lovingly adopting and caring for many pets throughout his life. He also possessed a quiet, steadfast faith. Prior to his illness. Gerald would visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette every few days, he found peace in lighting candles for ill family members and friends and formed meaningful friendships with the priests. Gerald was kind, loving, and funny. He loved his family and would contact brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews every few weeks to make sure they were doing well. He enjoyed the outdoors and in his spare time he would visit his cabin in New Hampshire where he would hunt and fish.
He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Souza and Jordan S. Souza. Gerald leaves behind his beloved life partner Sandra Cook, with whom he shared the last 20 years of his life. He also leaves behind his living siblings: Lisa Lopes and her husband Joseph, Karen Craig and her husband Alan, and Gary A. Souza and his wife Estela. He was predeceased by his siblings Lori A. Souza, Edward J. Souza Jr., Gregory D. Souza, Jeffrey A. Souza, James E. Souza, and Cynthia Eldrige. He will be fondly remembered by his many loving nieces, nephews and grandchildren, whom he loved very much
