Edna Mae Raines Tacker gained her heavenly wings on December 28, 2025, at the age of 108. She was born on December 8, 1917, to the late Tommy A. Raines and Mary Elizabeth Bearden Raines.
In 1942, Edna Mae married, Joseph "Tad" Tacker, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others while raising three daughters. A devoted and faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church for 84 years her days were grounded in her love for church, family, and friends.
Edna Mae was known for her many talents and generous spirit. She was an exceptional cook, a skilled seamstress, and a dedicated gardener. She also enjoyed telling stories of days gone by, and those who listened always delighted in hearing her memories and reflections from the past.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Sweat (Kenneth) of Selmer; Sherry Tacker of Memphis; and Becky DeBerry (Russell) of Hornsby. She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Scott Sweat, Kevin Sweat (Lora Lee), Christy Smith (Gregg) and Amy Powers (Chris); ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom cherish her legacy of faith, love, and devotion. The family is very appreciative of Lynnfield Place and the care they provided.
Edna Mae's long life was a testament to steadfast faith and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be sent to Good Hope Baptist Church in Adamsville, TN.
