Edna Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Edna Marie Miller, 82, of Freeport Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Edna was born on January 26, 1944, to Alvin and Rachel (Lapp) Raber of Hartville, Ohio. On February 1, 1964, she was united in marriage to William A Miller. Together they built a legacy marked by faith, devotion and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Rachel (Lapp) Raber, and siblings Ina (Abe deceased) Anderson, Lester (Marietta living) Raber and Henry (Martha deceased) Raber.

Edna is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William A (Willie) Miller, and her eight children, Ronnie (Anne) Miller of Quaker City, OH, Shelby (Nathan) Weaver of Quaker City, OH, Jason (Carolyn) Miller of Cambridge, OH, Rachel (Evangel) Helmuth of Freeport, OH, Marcus (Sonya) Miller of Jesup, GA, Wesley (Virginia) Miller of Westminister, SC, Virgil (Matilda) Miller of Freeport, OH, and Daniel (Anita) Miller of Freeport, OH; and also her siblings: LaVern (Mary Katherine deceased) Raber of Hartville, Ohio, Laura Sommers of Hartville, Ohio; Eli (Jan deceased) Raber of Portland, Oregon; John (Ann) Raber of Hartville, Ohio; Walter (Mary Louise) Raber of Sarasota, Florida; and Ruth (David) Yoder of Hartville, Ohio. She was blessed with 44 grandchildren and two great grandchildren all surviving.

To her family, Edna was beautiful-inside and out. She loved and created beauty through her flowers and decorating. She was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook. If there was a penny for every friend or hitchhiker who sat around Mom and Dad's table, the piggy bank would be full. No one ever left her table unwelcomed or hungry.

She was a devoted and nurturing mother. She cared deeply that her children were well dressed and cared for. She taught them practical life skills such as ironing, cleaning house and making a neat bed. She did so with patience and intention.

Edna had a remarkable way of making each grandchild feel special. They loved coming to Grandma for comfort and care. Things always felt better the moment the bandage was placed just right. Her love was healing, her presence reassuring.

Above all, Edna embodied warmth, hospitality, joy and gentle strength. She was a steady, loving presence, a woman who made life brighter simply by being there.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 8, from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. at Stop 9 Church of Christ, Byesville, Ohio. The funeral service will take place Monday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m., also at Stop 9 Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Antrim Mennonite Church, Freeport, Ohio.

Edna will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered-for her beauty, her joy, her nurturing care, and the light she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
