WARSAW- Robert Lee “Bob” Dickerson, 71, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 16, 1954 in Coshocton to the late Harold Leroy and Patricia Ellen (Everhart) Dickerson. He was a 1973 graduate of River View High School, worked at the former Pretty Products for 35 years, and retired from McWane Ductile after 11 years there. He was a firefighter for the former Warsaw Fire Department and the Walhonding Valley Fire District for 27 years.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman, and loved spending time at his river campsite watching the bald eagles. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He never knew a stranger, and would help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gayle E. (Medley) Dickerson of Warsaw, whom he married Dec. 24, 1976; two children, Marc Dickerson (Amy Ryan) of Frazeysburg, and Melissa Dickerson (Johnny Walker) of Warsaw; grandchildren, Isaac, Macie, & Jace Dickerson, Jayden & Lucas Seitz, Mackenzie & Gavin Celeschi, Ryder Walker, and Chloe & Trinity Broadwater; great-grandchildren, Cashton Tucker, and Zaria Broadwater; two brothers, Kenneth Dickerson of Cooperdale, and Todd (Jessica) Dickerson of Cooperdale; a sister, Joy (Dave) Smith of Canal Lewisville; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, William & Sandra Medley of Freeport; a sister-in-law, Tana (Jim) Fortney of Freeport; and his special canine companion, "Gracie".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Brandy Broadwater, and Jennifer Dickerson; a sister, Julia Kay Dickerson; a sister-in-law, Laura Dickerson; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Medley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2026 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Alan & Tamara Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation is on Sunday, Feb. 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
