Edna Ruth Ramsay

Edna Ruth (Markwardt) Ramsay, of Strafford, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at age 90. Born on August 11, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, Edna lived a life of faith and was devoted to her family and her beloved four-legged family members.

As a loving homemaker and mother, Edna will be remembered for her warm spirit and the loving care she provided to her children: Debra (Chuck) Rucker, Donna Foster, John (Kelly) Ramsay, Julie (Paul) Metelmann, Paul (Gennifer) Ramsay, Jennifer Ramsay [2008], many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She leaves behind a legacy of love, nurturing, and support that will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family.

Edna was a woman of simple joys, finding great delight in witnessing her children grow and love their own families. Spending time with her children, her children's children, and their children brought her great joy. She also enjoyed watching wildlife, especially the birds, from her front window and made sure they always had food. Her gentle spirit was mirrored in her husband of more than 69 years, George "Randy" Ramsay [2021], who inspired many with his faith and kindness.

A funeral service for Edna Ramsay will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on January 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with a visitation prior to the service at 9:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating her life, sharing memories, and bidding farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many.

Edna's warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will remain a guiding light in the lives she embraced.
