Edna Ruth King Starkey, of LaFayette, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, at the age of 95.

She was born on April 25, 1930, in DeKalb County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland King and Dora Terrell King.

Mrs. Starkey was employed by Mount Vernon Mills for 49 years, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She was also a faithful member of LaFayette First Church of God. Mrs. Starkey enjoyed traveling in past years with her husband and shopping. While at home, she enjoyed watching game shows. The family remembers her as a kind and loving lady that would always share with others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Starkey; one brother, Forrest King; and two sisters, Velma Mae Hill and Hazel Arlene King.

She is survived by one brother, Robert (Sherry) King; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at LaFayette City Cemetery on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 2 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 12 p.m. till 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home LaFayette Chapel, 1779 North Main Street, LaFayette, Georgia
