Edna (nee Jamison) Walters was born on April 14, 1935, in Hinkleville, Kentucky, and departed this life on March 1, 2026, in Fenton. A beloved matriarch, she graced her family with a warmth that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
As a loving mother, she is survived by her children: Randall (Nan) Walters, Valerie (Robert) Parham, and Peggy (Phil) Merrell. Grace took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with her grandchildren: Randall Derek (Dina) Walters, Jeremy Landon (Sophie) Walters, Valerie (Casey) Herndon, James Robert "Bobby" (Lyndsi Skiles) Parham, Jonathan (Jennifer) Parham, Emily Merrell, and Tyler Merrell. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, Grace Julia Walters, Evelyn Walters, James Walters, Will Walters, Catherine Walters, Lynlee Herndon, Clara Herndon, Millie Herndon, Malachi Parham, Lyric Parham, Eleya Parham, Josiah Parham, and their mother Toy, along with Breanna Skiles, Harper Skiles, Ezra Skiles, Azariah Parham, Isaac Parham, Liam Boudreau, Ava Merrell, Ben Merrell, and Kenzie Merrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Leroy Walters, and her parents, William Perry and Florence Ellen (nee Frey) Jamison. She had two children precede her in death, James Lloyd Walters, and a twin to her daughter Valerie, Vicky Lynn Walters. Grace will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and the lasting impact she made on her family and friends.
Edna was engaged to Marvin Leach at the time of her passing. There will be a memorial service at Gateway City Church on Saturday, March 7, at 3 PM. She will be buried in Barlow, KY.
