Charles "Chuck" Ames, born on July 12, 1980, in Saint Louis, Missouri, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Among those who cherish him, he will be remembered as a father, loving son, beloved brother, and friend.

Chuck's kindness, humor, and bold faith made him the unforgettable, standout individual that he was in every room. In recent years, Chuck has been a committed commercial driver, taking his "larger than life" personality on the road. He was also known for his entrepreneurial spirit, having owned and operated several small businesses. His ability to connect with people and undeniable charm carried him through a number of sales positions as well; the first gig being as a young boy, selling rolls of nickels for $5 each.

Chuck was a remarkable storyteller, leaving behind many tall tales including the family favorite, "Grandma and the Gold Purse." Chuck's passion extended beyond work and family. He loved the art of cooking and frequently won competitions. Many of Chuck's meals brought family and friends together around the table.

He is survived by his daughters, Lex "Alexis" Backer and CJ "Sydney" Ames, who were his pride and joy and are his greatest legacy. Chuck was a loving son to Pamela McLeskey (Arthur) King and a beloved brother to Sue Ames, Aaron (Heather) Ames, Jr., Gary (Mary) Ames, and Joy (Kurt) Heitz. He was a devoted fiance to Mylene Ordiales, who, along with her children, held a special place in his heart. In addition, he was a dear & fun uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, including Alexis, Sarah, Jacob, Sky "Shane", Frank, Christian, Aubree, Edith, Zack, Emery, Cooper, Henry, and great niece Eva Lou.

Chuck is predeceased by and will rest peacefully near his grandmother Dorothy McLeskey; also predeceased by his father, Aaron Ames, Sr., who will be remembered alongside him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO, 63129.
